Stamped Concrete in Atlanta & Kennesaw, GA

Stamped Overlay Specialists

The Stamped Look, Without Tearing Out Your Concrete

Most companies will tell you stamped concrete means demolition: rip out the old slab, pour a new one, stamp it. We do it smarter. JP Concrete Creations applies stamped overlays, a thin, tough layer of new concrete bonded over the patio, pool deck, or driveway you already own, then textured and colored to look like natural stone, slate, brick, or wood. No demo crews, no dumpsters, and a fraction of the cost of starting over.

We are a women-led, family-run company based in Kennesaw, serving metro Atlanta for 20+ years. James Peters is the artist on every job from start to finish, and Laura runs every project from first call to final walkthrough. Homeowners have given us a 4.9-star rating across 66 Google reviews.

Know Your Options

Stamped Overlay vs. Tear-Out and Repour

Before you get quotes, understand the choice most companies never explain. There are two ways to get stamped concrete, and the right one depends on the slab you already have.

Stamped Overlay (What We Do)

Your existing concrete becomes the foundation. We repair cracks, grind and prep the surface, then apply a polymer-modified overlay and stamp it with the pattern and colors you choose. Done in days, not weeks, with no demolition mess, and it typically costs far less than replacement.

Best for: structurally sound patios, pool decks, driveways, and walkways that look tired, stained, or dated.

Tear-Out and New Pour

When a slab is crumbling, badly heaved, or sinking, no overlay can save it. That job needs demolition and a new pour, which is not the work we do. If your concrete is past saving, we will tell you plainly at the estimate instead of selling you an overlay that will fail.

Best for: slabs with structural failure, severe settling, or drainage problems underneath.

Patterns & Colors

Stone, Slate, Brick, and Wood Looks

Stamping is done with textured mats pressed into the fresh overlay, paired with base colors and antiquing accents that mimic the depth of real stone. The patterns homeowners ask for most:

Random Flagstone

Large, irregular stones with natural grout lines. The most popular choice for pool decks and patios, and a JP signature.

Ashlar Slate

Rectangular cut-stone pattern with slate texture. A clean, high-end look for entries, walkways, and formal patios.

Brick & Cobblestone

Herringbone or running-bond brick and old-world cobblestone, perfect for driveways, borders, and front walks.

Colors are layered, not painted on: a base color plus antiquing tones worked into the texture, then locked in with a durable sealer. If you love color work, see how we pair stamping with decorative concrete staining for one-of-a-kind finishes.

What Stamped Concrete Costs in Metro Atlanta

Nobody ranking for stamped concrete in Atlanta publishes numbers. We would rather you walk in informed: in metro Atlanta, stamped overlay projects typically run $8โ€“$15 per square foot, depending on slab condition, pattern, and colors. Tear-out and new stamped pours typically cost considerably more once demolition and haul-away are added, which is exactly why the overlay approach exists.

What moves the price:

  • Slab condition: cracks, old coatings, or spalling add prep and repair time.
  • Pattern and colors: a single-color ashlar runs quicker than a multi-tone flagstone with hand-detailed grout lines.
  • Square footage: larger areas cost less per foot.
  • Borders and details: contrasting borders and custom accents add artistry and time.

Common Questions

Stamped Concrete FAQs

Can you stamp concrete over my existing patio or pool deck?

Yes, and that is exactly what we specialize in. A stamped overlay is a thin layer of polymer-modified concrete applied over your existing slab, then textured and colored to look like stone, slate, brick, or wood. You skip the demolition, the dumpsters, and most of the cost of a full tear-out. The slab does need to be structurally sound: at your free estimate we check it honestly and tell you plainly if an overlay will work or if your concrete has problems an overlay cannot fix.

How much does stamped concrete cost in Atlanta?

In metro Atlanta, stamped overlay projects typically run $8โ€“$15 per square foot depending on the condition of the existing slab, the pattern, and the number of colors. Tearing out and pouring new stamped concrete typically costs considerably more once demolition and haul-away are included. Your exact number comes from a free on-site estimate with a firm quote before any work begins.

Will a stamped overlay crack, and how long does it last?

An overlay is only as good as the prep underneath it, which is why we grind, clean, and repair the existing surface before anything decorative happens. Existing cracks are repaired and treated first; a slab that is actively moving is not a good overlay candidate, and we will tell you so. Properly installed and sealed, a stamped overlay lasts for decades. The protective sealer should be refreshed every few years, which is a quick service compared to redoing a surface.

Is stamped concrete slippery around a pool?

It does not have to be. Texture is part of the stamping itself, and for pool decks we add a slip-resistant additive to the sealer so the surface stays grippy when wet. Stamped overlays are one of the most popular pool deck finishes in Georgia for exactly this reason: cooler and safer underfoot than smooth concrete, with the look of natural stone.
